About the Journal

Until 2021, the periodical was named “The Countries and Peoples of the Near and Middle East.” Since 2021, the journal has been renamed  "Bulletin of the Institute of Oriental Studies" (or "Banber Arevelagitut'yan Instituti" (in Armenian). The issues of the "Bulletin of the Institute of Oriental Studies" include studies on the ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary history of the countries of  Southwest Asia, as well as issues of source studies and philology. A considerable part deals with the ongoing developments and processes in the Eurasian region. The periodical may interest the orientalists, specialists in the field of Armenology and international relations.

The series “The Countries and Peoples of the Near and Middle East” has been published in the Institute of Oriental Studies of NAS RA since 1960. The collection includes research on the history of the ancient, medieval, modern, and contemporary periods of the history of the Near and Middle Eastern countries, as well as on the issues of source studies and philology. Significant attention is paid to the coverage of regional political developments, international relations, and other issues.

The collection also publishes works on relations between the Middle East and other regions of Eurasia. The articles are published in Armenian, Russian, English, and other European languages.
